Roy Owen Dixey Charitable Trust
The Roy Owen Dixey Trust was established to benefit charitable organisations within the greater Christchurch area. Public Trust administers the trust as Trustee. The Trustee in its sole discretion shall determine income distributions to Charities.
The region - For clarity it was recorded as including the local authority areas presently known as Christchurch City, the Waimakariri District and the Hurunui District but not the Selwyn District or Banks Peninsula. Note that Banks Peninsular District was amalgamated into Christchurch Council in March 2006; however it is currently described as the “Banks Peninsular Ward” and should be excluded as a qualifying area for grants.
Funding Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be a registered charitable entity or a school.
Applications are open to organisations that are based in or supporting people within the greater Christchurch Area as described above.
The minimum you can apply for is $3,000 and the maximum you can apply for is $10,000.
Applicants must supply a set of Financial Statements completed in line with the Reporting Standards set by Charities Services.
The application must demonstrate how they align with the general charitable purposes which are:
a) The advancement of education
b) The advancement of religion
c) The relief of poverty, sickness or disability
d) Any other purpose that benefits the community
Applications from the following will not be considered:
Retrospective funding.
Applications from organisations who received a grant a prior year that have not met their accountability requirements.
Applications from individuals, sports organisations and service clubs are not eligible to apply to the Trust.
How to Apply
Applications open at 9am, 3 February 2025 and close at 5pm on 28 February 2025. Applicants will be advised of the outcome by 30 April 2025. Please note this date is subject to change in which case applicants will be notified prior.
