Early Childhood - Special Grant Round
An annual allocation of funds is approved by the Board for the Trustee to complete a special contestable grant round for licensed not-for-profit, community based Early Childhood Education, Care Centres and OSCAR programmes within the Trust’s region (old Wellington provincial district, defined as the area of the North Island which is south of Turangi and excluding Taranaki and Hawke's Bay). The purpose of the grant is to:
improve a building or playground and/or,
for projects that address health and safety hazards at the centre,
to assist with new or replacement equipment,
the purchase of books, computers and play equipment.
Application guidelines
The maximum grant payable is $2,000.
The Trust will call for applications annually from the 1st of April to the 30th of April at 5pm.
The outcome of the applications will be made available before the 31st of May.
Applications are to be completed online via ‘Smarty Grants’.
The online application allows applicants to input information/answer questions and supporting documentation can be uploaded to support the application.
The online granting system will acknowledge receipt of the application to the applicant.
Late applications will not be accepted.
Successful applicants provide an acknowledgement of receipt; and acknowledge the grant in their financial statements and annual report.
