Create a will onlineEnsuring world-class delivery of Public Trust's products and services is about putting people at the heart of everything it does. Its leading customer service is made possible by the depth of expertise and empathy within the team of more than 400 operating from 22 customer centres covering the country from Cape Reinga to Rakiura.
Public Trust is more diverse and inclusive than ever before in its 150 year history, with its people coming from over at least 17 different ethnic backgrounds, with a bell-shape distribution of age cohorts, and, in contrast to much of its past, women outnumber men by a ratio of two to one, with an even gender split in leadership roles.
Being inclusive and accessible for Kiwi is at the forefront of its organisational goals and culture of care, and it recognises this should not stop at its customers. Public Trust continues to ensure it upholds a diverse and supported working environment that allows staff to feel comfortable in bringing their true authentic selves to work each day.
Our people are as diverse as our services but one thing ties them all together – a passion for helping Kiwi protect what’s important to them. Let's hear from one such person – Elena at Public Trust.
Head of Client Services (Auckland)
Head of Client Services (Auckland)
Elena Vinton has been Head of Client Services (Auckland) since 2015, and a core part of the Corporate Trustee Services (CTS) team in Auckland for over seven years, working with a number of Public Trust’s largest clients.
The work of Corporate Trustee Services that Elena is most passionate about is making a difference in the life of New Zealand investors in terms of how financial products are presented to them by providers, and how issues are resolved.
"When doing my job, I often visualise a Kiwi family and ask myself, 'What would they want to know before making investment decisions?'."
During Elena's time in CTS the most useful learning she has gained is the ability to look at issues from different perspectives, but nevertheless making decisions that are in the best interests of investors.
Her proudest moment at Public Trust was when findings from a monitoring visit (with a supervised entity) were presented to their Board and subsequently approved for implementation.
"I get a lot of satisfaction from making impactful recommendations, and work that benefits all New Zealand investors."
During the FY2023 Elena concentrated on providing more training and education for her CTS team as an additional value-add for clients.
Looking forward, how does Elena see the future for Corporate Trustee Services at Public Trust?
"Public Trust will continue to grow in the corporate trustee industry because we have an amazing and talented team of people who are very passionate about our purpose as a supervisor. We have a network of business partners who can assist us in our journey."
Our people are at the heart of everything we do and achieve for our customers.
